This eye catching mix of bright and earthy represents an array of lentils namely the red football lentils, brown lentils, green lentils and yellow football lentils. By combining these lentils you get the benefit of tantalising, diverse textures and varying ranges of flavour as well as the nutritive benefits of it being crammed full of fibre, protein, B-vitamins and blood sugar stabilising carbohydrates. This mix is perfect for use in soups, stews, curries,casseroles and potjies.

Cooking Tips

250 ml (one cup) of raw world lentil mix makes 650 ml (2 ½ cups) cooked lentil mix. Lentils can be used to lower the fat content of meat dishes by using one cup of lentils to replace 100g of meat.

Cooking Instructions

Cover lentils with water or stock, bring to the boil and simmer for 20 minutes.

Recipe Idea

Use this mix of lentils to thicken and add texture and protein to soups and meat dish gravies. Ideal for bolognaise, soups, stews, curries, casseroles and potjies. Lentils also add fibre to meals.
