Cooking Tips

The soup mix can be added directly to the soup; no need to pre-soak. The barley takes the longest to cook, so make sure the soup simmers for at least 30 minutes after adding the soup mix.

Cooking Instructions

Add soup mix directly to the soup stock and simmer for about 30 minutes until the barley is just tender. Vegetables are best added 10 minutes before serving.

Recipe Idea

Add the soup mix to soup stock and simmer gently for about 30 minutes, until the barley is just tender. Add fresh vegetables, such as diced tomato, grated carrots and celery 10 minutes before serving. For a rich meaty soup add tomato paste, ground beef, and garlic.
