Product Information

Chick peas, also known as garbanzo beans, are a roundish beige member of the legume family. Most are familiar with chick peas used whole in salads or ground up to make the popular Middle Eastern dish hummus. Chick peas are an excellent nutritional choice and are high in fibre and protein.. They are also considered more digestible than most other beans and are considered a starchy carbohydrate making them a great staple for people with diabetes as they do not convert into a high glucose when consumed. As a result they rate well on the glycemic index. Chickpeas are great served cold in salads or warm in soups,stews, curries and casseroles.
