AGT Executive Chairman recognised for Distinguished Service

AGT Foods is proud to announce that Huseyin Arslan, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of the Arbel Group, has received the Saskatchewan Distinguished Service Award, one of the Government of Saskatchewan's highest honours. He was presented the award by Premier Brad Wall at a ceremony at Government House.

The Saskatchewan Distinguished Service Award recognises non-residents of the province who have made outstanding contributions to Saskatchewan and the development of the province’s economy, culture and society. Arslan is only the 24th recipient of this award.
Arslan has been involved in the global pulse industry and staple food business for more than 30 years. He was one of the founding shareholders of Saskcan Pulse Trading, which went on to become AGT Food and Ingredients.
“Pulses now represent an estimated $1 billion industry in Saskatchewan, and the province has evolved into one of the leading producers of lentils, peas and chickpeas in the world,” Wall said. “Huseyin’s original investment in Saskatchewan and his ongoing commitment to the industry has been crucial to the creation of a healthy pulse production and processing industry in Saskatchewan.”
In South Africa, AGT Foods offers a one-stop solution to the food service industry. AGT Foods represents the Retail, Hospitality, Spices, Ingredients, Popcorn, Bakery and Protein Divisions as well as Pouyoukas Foods, which falls under the Retail Division and is sold through all major supermarkets in South Africa.
